Women Use Their Brains More.....while compared to MEN!

Congratulations to all women out there! Finally researchers have proven that we use our brains more!!!!! Apparently, researchers from Duke University have come up with findings that women need more sleep than men, due to the very fact that they put up with more mental and physical pressures and the aftermath of insufficient rest compared to men.

The research also states that women stand a greater risk of heart related issues, depressions and psychological and physical problems while compared to men.

An experiment was carried out to study men and women's individual needs for sleep by evaluating their capacity to deal with insufficient rest. The detailed experiment revealed some mind-blowing results. Apparently, women had more anger, they were more prone to depressions and they were more hostile early in the morning... ( on a lighter note, I would suggest all men to be away from their women early in the mornings and not incur their wrath :-) )

This extreme disproportion stems from various biological factors and researchers feel that this could be due to over usage of the mental capacities by women.

Sleep allows the brain to recover and repair. During deep sleep, the cortex - the most important part of the brain that is solely responsible for thought, memory, language etc. detaches itself completely from the senses and goes into self recovery mode. In simple layman terms, the more of your brain you use, the more it needs to recover, and thus, meaning you need more sleep. Women multi-task a LOT! They have this amazing capacity to spin multiple jobs at once - so, they use more of their brain than men in simple terminology!

This doesn't mean men use their brains LESS! Men who have extremely complex decision making jobs also require more sleep than an average male - yet, not as much as a woman does.

Studies have also revealed that inadequate sleep can also lead to faster skin ageing, heart strokes, blood clots, respiratory issues etc.

So, it is best suggested that not just women, but even men should and must get that adequate 8 hours sleep daily to lead a healthy life and even add more years to our age.

HAPPY SLEEPING!
